The overall cryptocurrency markets are experiencing a considerable downturn, with most tokens seeing a notable price decrease. The bitcoin battle seems to stay above the $40,000 support level, indicating some bullish control in the market. Despite this, December has seen a more than  11% increase in Bitcoin price, marking the fourth consecutive month of gains and potentially the ninth positive month out of 12 months in 2023.

Current market conditions suggest a potential rebound from the ongoing consolidation phase as traders maintain optimism, despite the prevailing bearish trend Analyst Income Sharks shared on-chain data indicating a break in the on-balance volume (OBV) on Binance. OBV is a technical analysis indicator used in the financial market to measure volume flow based on price movement. A declining OBV indicates reduced volume pressure, suggesting the asset’s value might further decline. This situation often prompts investors to buy during the dip.

The Bitcoin price is currently consolidating, having made two attempts to breach the $40,000 support level before entering this phase. Observing the overall price trend on the daily chart, the Bitcoin battle still seems to push prices to a bullish trajectory despite recent market movements. There’s a sense in the markets that they are waiting for a signal confirming a bullish reversal, potentially sparking a new upward trend. Consequently, Bitcoin could resume its upward momentum, potentially surpassing $45,000 in the near future.
